How to Play

Two players take turns placing X and O marks on a 3x3 grid. Click an empty cell to place your mark. The first player to get three marks in a row — horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — wins. If all nine cells are filled with no winner, the game is a draw. On PlayMore.gg, find an opponent through matchmaking and play in real time with optional time controls (no limit, 1, 2, or 3 minutes). You can also practice against an AI bot with three difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, and Hard.

About Tic-Tac-Toe

Tic-Tac-Toe is one of the oldest and most universally known strategy games, with roots tracing back to ancient Egypt. Its simple 3x3 grid hides surprising strategic depth — with perfect play, neither player can win, making every mistake punishable. PlayMore.gg's version features real-time online multiplayer with WebSocket-powered gameplay, an ELO rating system, configurable time controls, and a single-player mode against an AI that ranges from random moves (Easy) to unbeatable minimax play (Hard). Play instantly in your browser with no downloads required.

Scoring

Tic-Tac-Toe on PlayMore.gg uses an ELO rating system starting at 1200. Beat higher-rated opponents for larger rating gains. The K-factor is 32 for your first 30 games and 16 afterward. Games with time controls add urgency — if your clock runs out, you lose. Draws have no rating impact. Track your wins, losses, draws, and rating on your profile.
